Boys' Football
For the first boys' football tournament of the academic year, the Year 6 Riverbridge football team travelled to Egham Sports Centre to compete in the annual football tournament which determines league positions for the forthcoming season.
Our first game was against Echelford and despite some pretty football and plenty of shots on target, the boys fell to a 5-1 defeat with Adam S scoring our only goal. Our second game was a much closer 1-0 defeat to Laleham, again, with chances coming our way but unable to convert. We then went straight on and played against Our Lady, and the tiredness showed as we fell to a 5-0 defeat. After a rest and some rejuvenation, we played our last game against Springfield and despite going 1-0 down, we came back and turned it around into a 2-1 win, with goals coming from Adam S and Callum J. It was a great display of sportsmanship and fortitude from the boys, with Ollie G winning the sportsmanship award. We look forward to the rest of the season!
